Casa Pedra é um esconderijo, uma ruína transformada num espaço habitacional ligado ao meio envolvente. Situada num planalto com uma escarpa a oeste, a casa de pedra, uma antiga ruina, abraça esta excecional posição geográfica com vista de 360º desde a serra de Grândola até ao Oceano Atlântico, com os seus ventos e incrível laranja por de sol.

Mantivemos a pedra original no exterior, e abriu-se vãos para as zonas de vista principal. Para manter o contato visual de 360º com a paisagem envolvente subiu-se a cobertura, criando uma mezanine e entre a cobertura e as paredes de madeira, só existe vidro, como que se a cobertura se elevasse e estivesse a levitar levantada pelos ventos, para deixar passar os raios de sol para o outro lado da casa.

Stonehouse is a hideout, a ruin transformed into a living space linked to the surroundings. Located on a plateau with an escarpment to the west, the stone house, an ancient ruin, embraces this exceptional geographical position with a 360º view from the Serra de Grândola to the Atlantic Ocean, with its winds and incredible orange sunsets.

We kept the original stone outside, and openings were opened to the main viewing areas.
To maintain 360º visual contact with the surrounding landscape, the roof was raised, creating a mezzanine and between the roof and the wooden walls, there is only glass, as if the roof was elevated and levitated by the winds, to let the sun’s rays pass to the other side of the house.
